Red Tide Updates
At TradeWinds Island Resorts, we are closely monitoring reports of Red Tide blooms offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's west coast.
Red Tide occurs when there is a higher-than-normal concentration of microscopic alga (plant-like organism) in the water.
Over the last several days, we have seen red-tide levels vary greatly. Detected levels are mostly low, which results in little to no impact on most people. We have also seen some days with recorded levels reaching in the high range, which can cause some discomfort in people with sensitivities.
Because this phenomena effects individuals differently, we encourage all guests to pay attention to all advisories for the most up-to-date conditions. For more information visit: MyFWC.com or visitstpeteclearwater.com/current-beach-conditions
