Aerobics
Aerobics or Aqua Aerobics classes are offered in-season at the Island Grand, and the $10 fee for this great workout that’s good for your body is included in the Explorer Value Pass. For a nominal fee, special aerobic classes for groups can be arranged by the recreation staff.

Fitness Centers
The Explorer Value Pass provides guests with daily access to the fully-equipped fitness centers at Island Grand and Sandpiper. The centers offer such equipment as treadmills, elliptical crosstrainers, recumbent and upright bikes, cable crossover machines, Fullbody Nautilus circuit, freeweights and Body Master equipment. For guests 18 and over, or 16-17 when accompanied by an adult.

Golf
Tee times for play at some of the area’s best public courses may be made up to weeks in advance though our Golf Concierge. Located in the lobby at the TradeWinds Island Grand he can assist with course selection, reserve tee times for individual and group play, as well as coordinate tournaments for groups. Hammocks
What better way to truly relax than falling asleep in a gently swaying hammock under the palms? Hammocks are located beachfront at both the Sandpiper and the Island Grand resorts, and old-fashioned wooden swings at Sandpiper provide a welcome spot for "just letting go".

Paddleboats
Hop aboard a paddleboat (charge covered by Explorer Value Pass) for an exclusive tour of the Island Grand waterway, home to swans and a variety of native Florida waterfowl. Paddle alongside tropical flowers and lush foliage, under bridges, and explore away!

Pools
You’ll find five heated pools for year-round comfort at Island Grand and two at Sandpiper. Island Grand features an adults only pool beachfront at the Breckenridge building, and Sandpiper’s Oasis Courtyard pool and whirlpool is reserved for adults only. Island Grand also features a children’s wading pool with shade umbrellas, next to a pool by the Activities center, plus one under cover, and another beachfront.

Tennis
Two Har-Tru clay courts are located at the Island Grand, and available for the exclusive use of all TradeWinds guests (charge covered by Resort Amenity Fee). Reservations for court time should be made in advance. Group and private lessons for a fee are conveniently arranged.

TradeWinds Action Zone Activities Center
The T.A.Z. staff will coordinate all aspects of the recreational experience for every member of your family or group. From aqua aerobics to family swim meets, Night Spiker volleyball to tennis clinics, this center is definitely where the action is. For a schedule of events, please see our Activity Schedule. For specific children's programs, go to Kid's Program. Many activities are included in the Explorer Value Pass.

Volleyball
Nets are located behind the Island Grand; balls are provided through the beach activity hut.

Water Sports
There are plenty of ways to make a splash in the gentle, turquoise-colored waves lapping the shores. The TradeWinds is fortunate to have the area's finest water sports provider located right on the beach directly behind the Island Grand and Sandpiper. Sun Sports offers parasailing, waverunner rentals, & banana boat rides. Adventure Cruise offers shelling and dolphin watch cruises, sunset sails, and snorkeling. Make reservations at the Concierge desk or from your room, or simply stop by one of the beach huts. Rentals may be charged directly to the guest's room. Remember that the Resort Amenity Fee allows use of colorful water trykes on the Gulf of Mexico, and a fleet of paddleboats on our meandering waterway.

Whirlpools
The perfect end to the perfect day: a long, leisurely soak in a whirlpool. Two are located at the beachfront pool at the Island Grand, and one with dramatic lighting in the Oasis Courtyard (adults only) at Sandpiper.
